Vision

At Moulsham Infant School, we want to develop 21st century citizens who understand our world today and how it has been influenced by those before us.  We want to allow children the chance to think of themselves as a person in the wider world.  We will enable them to do this by teaching them about the impact that others before them have left (such as studying historically important figures) and to support children in reflecting and assessing their individual impact on the wider world.  We encourage children to do this by comparing and contrasting others’ actions with their own.

Intent

We want our children to have global values embedded into their outlook, so we study different times in history to address these global values and how they have changed in time, such as learning about bravery and resilience during World War 2.

Our overarching aim for children is that they are ‘the best they can be’ and that they are kind.  By providing children with the opportunity to learn about and reflect upon times when there has been conflict, unkindness or suffering at times/periods in history, we want to enable children to reflect upon their own behaviour and attitudes to foster understanding and kindness.
