At Moulsham Infant School we have an ethos where the child’s personal, social and emotional wellbeing is very important.
PSHE is categorised into three areas: health and well-being, relationships and living in the wider world; where we delicately deal with issues such as friendships, bereavement and staying safe. Children are encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings and listen to others through circle time, discussion points and assemblies.
Also embedded into the PSHE curriculum is the teaching of British Values. This involves your child having an understanding of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different cultures and religions.
In 2021, 'RSHE' a new statutory curriculum will be introduced. This focuses on healthy relationships, being safe, physical and mental well being, internet safety, fitness, healthy eating, health and prevention. The new curriculum will also include all the topics currently covered in PSHE and British Values.
At Moulsham Infant School we encourage our children to consider the wider environment. We have given the pupils the responsibility to ensure that lights and interactive whiteboards are switched off when not in use. This is monitored everyday by the children and classes are rewarded for looking after our environment by receiving stickers in their room.
