By the end of Year 1 your child should be able to:

Health and well-being:

  • Recognise and name feelings.
  • Know that we have rules and recognise they keep us safe.
  • Show an awareness of the benefits and dangers of medicine.

Develop good relationships:

  • Talk about what makes a good friend.
  • Talk about how people feel when they lose something they love.
  • Know that different materials will be used to make different products.                     

By the end of Year 2 your child should be able to:

Health and well-being:

  • Talk about a variety of emotions and how they make them feel.
  • Identify hazards in the household and on the roads.
  • Make good decisions to keep them safe, healthy and happy.
  • Self-reflect, being aware of their own needs, strengths and next steps for development.

Develop good relationships:

  • Listen carefully and empathise with others.
  • Present and communicate ideas, arguments and thoughts effectively.
  • Work as part of a team.

Living in the wider world:

  • Make sensible choices about saving and spending money.
  • Ask questions and provide own opinions.
  • Manage their emotions.
